House of Prayer

YOU ARE A HOUSE OF PRAYER
Have you ever heard the famous story about a temple in Jerusalem known as "the house of prayer?" It was the famous place where Jesus went and found people buying and selling goods and services and turned over tables and benches of money and would not allow anyone to carry their merchandise through the temple courts. It was quite popular, even among secular circles. What was the big deal? Faith based organizations sell stuff all the time out of their buildings, right? Well, the story goes that Jesus was upset, not because of people trying to make a living selling stuff, but because they did it out of a place that was intended specifically for matters of the spirit. He said, "is it not written: my house will be called a house of prayer for all nations...you have made it into a den of robbers."

So what's the lesson here? Simply put, the temple was a place intended for matters of the heart and soul, not for the wallet and pocketbook. Translation: your body is that temple, intended as a place for matters of the heart and soul; NOT a trashcan intended to store up garbage and waste. We should all wear visible labels that say: Soul-Inside: Handle With Care. Instead, we wear invisible labels that say, Caution: Contents Under Pressure.

We may not be blessed with the power of prophecy or the ability to literally walk on water, but we do have one power that is truly awesome and amazing within us all. No matter your walk of faith or your secular background, we all possess the power to communicate our deepest thoughts and feelings from within.

This-is the power of prayer. It is incredible to think we can close our eyes, focus our minds and without saying a word, we can speak! Now the part that is left to debate and belief is, who are we praying to? Well, that is up to you. This site is not intended to convert, coerce or change one's faith-base. But it is intended to be a place where you can go and get personal and professional tips and advice to make yourself the strong, healthy, powerful being you are. Prayer is powerful and can lead you to make healthier, stronger decisions in your life.

You have a voice and it needs to heard. You ARE a church. you ARE a temple. The Spirit lives in you! This is a fact. Every human has a soul. It needs communication, attention and nourishment, just like the rest of you. For those of us who may not know how prayer works, it's a lot like a telephone. You talk on your phone that sends your message through a central relay service (aka the phone company or cell service provider)  to the person on the other end. Easy. It's the same thing. When you pray, you speak from your soul, to the Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirit carries your message to the Son and then from the Son to God. It is the most effective, reliable communication service known to humankind. It is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, the lines are NEVER down, and you ALWAYS get a reply.

Now, I have had several people argue there are, undoubtedly, some flaws in this inter-dimensional, meta-physical communication system. One, it's a voice-mail. You will have to leave a message and wait for the callback. We talk about that on this site. Two, we don't always get the answer we were looking for, and that, I address on here, as well.

Still, at the end of the day, YOU are a house of prayer. You have the ability to talk with God through the Spirit and the Son. You do NOT have to be afraid. It is as easy as opening your mind and saying, "Dear God..." That's it. And let it flow from there.

Okay. So I want to "talk to your inner higher power", what do I say? Think of it as open conversation. You are talking to your Creator, so do not feel embarrassed or ashamed, He already knows everything about you anyway, so there's truly nothing to hide. Have a free and confident approach. You do NOT need a priest or a pastor. You do NOT have to be religious or have a faith base. All you have to do is:

FOCUS: A healthy and beneficial conversation is more about quality and not about quantity.
CARE: Proceed with care when asking for things for yourself. Remember, if they are radical and ridiculous to you, they are probably radical and ridiculous to God. Keep it simple. Details always help. It's okay to pray for yourself, but remember to pray for each other. There are a lot of people who don't know how or do not want to believe in God, Jesus or Prayer. THAT'S OKAY. Pray for them just as you pray for like-minded believers.Jesus is "their" King as well and God is "their" spiritual father, also, whether they choose to accept it or not. Keep going.
TRUST: Remember, this is a spiritual voice-mail. Do not expect a deep, majestic echoed voice to call out from the shadows and start talking to you. If that happens, you may want to pray for sanity. Just kidding. The human imagination can often take over and our minds will wander effortlessly in search of an immediate response. Trust and believe that Jesus will get your message and He will deliver it to His Father and if your prayer is in line with His Will, you will be most humbly pleased. If it is not, you may be sad for a moment, but know that sometimes, the "yes" is in the "no." Think about that.
PEOPLE: Prayer is intercessory. You can pray by yourself, of course. But you can also pray together with family, friends and prayer groups. You can pray for community, teachers, schools, government, law enforcement, emergency response services, neighbors, others in need. All you have to do is look out into the world and you will see it is a world in need. There's plenty to pray for and about.

When you're ready, go for it. There is no prayer too great or too small, too long or too short. In the words of the satirical Frasier, "go ahead, He's listening."

Humans. We are special. Unique. No two are alike. Every person has worth and purpose. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to find out what that purpose is. Some know right away and fulfill their destiny. Others spend a lifetime not knowing of they served any real purpose at all. We were made in the "image" of our Creator, male and female; formed from dust of the ground and brought to life by the spirit placed within us, welcome to the wonderful world of YOU.

Now, I'm probably going to upset a lot of you with what I'm about to say next. So brace yourself. Human life matters to God. Why is that important? Because this means that God does not condone abortion, murder or any other type of human sacrifice, form of population or birth control whatsoever. I told you it would make you mad. It's true. God said, "whoever sheds the blood of a human being, so shall his blood also be shed." Easy translation: it will hurt the person who took the life worse than it will hurt the person whose life was taken. After all, they're dead. They don't feel physical pain or suffering anymore. But guess what? The person who took that life out of existence will live with the pain, guilt, shame and hurt until the end of their days. What? That's no way to live!

Let's play a little game humans HATE called, "Is It Wrong?"
Is it wrong to have sex with multiple partners outside of wedlock?
Is it wrong to use birth control in a promiscuous manner?
Is it wrong to abort a pregnancy for ANY reason?
Is it wrong to rape?
Is it wrong to murder?

You already know the answer, so let's move on. You already know that every human life was created from an inmost being, knit together in a mother's womb. You and I were fearfully and wonderfully made. And all the days of our lives were written in the etches of History before we were even born. The entire law of human sanctity is summed up in one law: love your fellow human being as you love yourself. Did you know there is no such thing as an "accidental birth?" Did you also know that exponentially our lives have already been lived out and we are technically in the past? Our present is God's past! He has already seen all the days of our existence. That's why human life matters to God from conception to death.
We live in the "end times" where death is acceptable. And legal. You would think a planet with this much abortion, infanticide, genocide, euthanasia and capital punishment, we would have our fill and collectively, as a species, choose to stop doing this to ourselves, but the truth is, we can't. We must ultimately accept the fateful fact that everything that lives, will die. I have to ask though, what would the world be like if we stopped killing ourselves?

Death is the punishment for a fallen life away from perfection;
it is a disease. Is there a cure? The calming and resounding sigh of relief is: YES!

The Second Coming
Did you know that 70% of the world's population believe in life after death? And out of that 70%, 55% of those who believe in life after death believe in Heaven and 53% of the those who believe in Heaven believe in the Second Coming of Christ?! Wow! Who would have thought so many people share such a taboo perspective of life and death. Christian and Bible-based faiths believe in the hope and reality of Jesus Christ's return.  The Bible says, "For you yourselves know full well that the day of the Lord will come just like a thief in the night.(1 Thessolonians 5:2-4.)

It's hard for us to imagine what the halls of an eternal mansion look like...actually, I think it's a metaphor when the Bible says, "In my Father's house, there are many rooms..." after all, where would you literally house that many infinite beings? For that answer, you can click here
But it's NOT metaphor when Jesus said, "I go to prepare a place for you and I will come back for you and take you to be with me."

Putting the blatantly obvious reasons aside, why would believers even want Jesus to come back? One-for JUSTICE to be fulfilled. There will be a time of accountability where all people of the earth will be brought forth for judgment; the living and the dead; and it is through this process, justice is served. That's why He said things like, "turn the other cheek", "be in the world, but not part of the world", and my personal favorite, "vengeance is mine." You see, at the end of the day, it's God they are truly fighting and that's a fight no human can win. Period.

It is written, "...the Son of Man will return in His Glory, and all the angels with Him...all the nations will be gathered before Him and He will separate the people, one from another...'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world...' Then He will say to the others, "...depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels'...they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous-to eternal life."

Two-for LOVE to be fulfilled. "Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. Love will last forever..." Unconditional love is not something that humans can fully emotionally grasp because of our physical deterioration and our spiritual separation from perfection. However, we can understand what unconditional love may look like ie mother saving a child, a man running into a burning building, taking a felon into your heart/ home or forgiving someone who hurt you in a terrible way.

Three-for RAPTURE to be fulfilled. Most of us believe this is some science fiction spin on the resurrection. Others don't believe in it at all. I guess there's only one way to find out what's true; wait until it happens. There is the fear that those that do not choose to go with Jesus into The New World will be left behind and among them will be friends, family, loved ones, people we know...but it is not up to us. If they are able to choose, then they must make the decision for themselves. Which way will you choose?

Four-to complete the PURPOSE of creation and the MISSION of Christ. Jesus said, "I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving kindness." His purpose was to save us from ourselves, collectively and individually. We were separated from God by sin and Jesus put the link back together again. The human is now again one with its Creator through the grace, patience, and love. There really is no greater gift.

Why It Matters; To get us and others READY!

The Second Coming of the Only Begotten Son of God will happen at any time. No one knows the hour of His return; not even the angels in Heaven. Jesus did not know when He would be back; only His Father in Heaven. It will happen with God says it is time. Believers have confidence and look forward to His return.

When it is all said and done, there will be TRUE peace; not just a temporary time we take be still and stop hurting ourselves and each other. It will be a time of TRUE rest. Through grace, we make peace with God and have hope.

Me: God, can I ask You a question?
God: Sure
Me: Promise You won't get mad
God: I promise
Me: Why did You let so much stuff happen to me today?
God: What do u mean?
Me: Well, I woke up late
God: Yes
Me: My car took forever to start
God: Okay
Me: at lunch they made my sandwich wrong & I had to wait
God: Hmmmmm
Me: On the way home, my phone went DEAD, just as I picked up a call
God: All right
Me: And on top of it all off, when I got home ~I just want to soak my
feet in my new foot massager & relax. BUT it wouldn't work!!! Nothing
went right today! Why did You do that?

God: Let me see, the death angel was at your bed this morning & I had
to send one
of My Angels to battle him for your life. I let you sleep through that
Me (humbled): OH
GOD: I didn't let your car start because there was a drunk driver on
your route that would have hit you if you were on the road.
Me: (ashamed)
God: The first person who made your sandwich today was sick & I didn't
want you to catch what they have, I knew you couldn't afford to miss
work.
Me (embarrassed):Okay
God: Your phone went dead bcuz the person that was calling was going
to give false witness about what you said on that call, I didn't even
let you talk to them so you would be covered.
Me (softly): I see God
God: Oh and that foot massager, it had a short that would knock out
all of the power in your house tonight. I didn't think you wanted to
be in the dark.
Me: I'm Sorry God

God: Don't be sorry, just learn to Trust Me.... in All things , the
Good & the bad.
Me: I will trust You.
God: And don't doubt that My plan for your day is Always Better than
your plan.
Me: I won't God. And let me just tell you God, Thank You for
Everything today.
God: You're welcome child. It was just another day being your God and
I Love looking after My Children...
